Meet Bella Bowers, APC

Work It Out Wellness

How did I get into this career?

After earning my undergrad degree in Philosophy, I learned that I enjoy listening to other people’s perspectives and learning about new viewpoints. Counseling felt like a natural extension of philosophy since they both involve holding space for people and their beliefs. In 2020, I decided to take the plunge and started studying for my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. It’s been a personally enriching and fulfilling journey and one that I’m passionate about!

What is my favorite thing about what I do?

I love having conversations with people. So, it feels very meaningful to be in a career that is centered about conversations! Sometimes that looks like me asking clients’ questions to help them feel comfortable to open up. But, some of my favorite sessions are when clients use the therapy space to have conversations with themselves. Whether they’re talking about what’s bothering them or something they love, I love when client’s take up the space to explore who they are!

What do I hope for my clients?

I hope my clients are able to feel comfortable and confident in themselves! My own personal journey with therapy has allowed me to view myself with increased self-compassion and confidence. I can only hope for the same outcome for my clients. I value helping clients working through breakups, life transitions, trauma, and other presenting issues. And, it’s beautiful to see clients begin to view themselves as worthy of change, choices, and love.

What do I like to do when I’m not at Work It Out Wellness?

There are so many things that I love to do! I enjoy watching TV shows (any Killing Eve fans?), cooking dinner, hosting my annual Halloween party, listening to Taylor Swift, walking around my neighborhood, and playing the piano.  And, you will never meet a bigger Godzilla fan.
