How did I get into this career?
Having always had a profound interest in stories, I pursued an undergraduate degree in
journalism with the hope of giving others the strength to share their own. Through the people I interviewed, and the stories I wrote and shared, I learned about diversity in thought and hardship. I saw how pain ripples through generations when not acknowledged and tended to. I also saw how empowering it was for these people to feel seen and heard, bringing me to the field of mental health with hopes to tackle issues like intergenerational trauma.
What is my favorite thing about what I do?
I love being a therapist because it allows me to connect with others on a deeper level. The privilege of entering someone’s world, hearing their stories, and witnessing their journey is incredibly rewarding. I cherish the challenge of growing alongside my clients, as each interaction deepens my understanding of both their experiences and my own.
What do I hope for my clients?
I want my clients to feel safe and supported as they navigate their journeys. My hope is that they discover a sense of self-compassion, learning to be gentle with themselves through the ups and downs. I want them to build confidence in their abilities and trust that they can handle whatever life throws their way.
What do I like to do when I’m not at Work It Out Wellness?
I love spending time with my family and friends. Aside from that, in my free time you might find me exploring new coffee shops and bookstores, biking a new trail, or watching crime docs with my cats!
